Martin is a Chartered Surveyor and Technical Director in the Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Directorate at Ardent and with over 35 years’ post qualification experience primarily practicing in the Rural Sector. Prior to joining Ardent, Martin worked for a range of promoters and claimants relating to utility and road schemes and managing rural estates.
Whilst with Ardent, Martin has been the key technical lead with Network Rail providing Rural Property Services during and post construction of the first phase of the East West Rail project including negotiating compensation claims, advising East West Rail Co on landowner engagement for the optioneering stage of the third phase of the East West Rail project, negotiated land rights for the onshore cable for the Triton Knoll windfarm, negotiation of the land rights and objection management for, and implementation of, the Lake Lothing Third Crossing for Suffolk County Council and advising/negotiation of the land rights for the onshore cable of the Vanguard and Boreas windfarm schemes including leading the negotiations for the land acquisition for the substation site including leading the land liaison with National Grid Electricity Transmission.
